A silly top-down,  rogue-like where you’re a pirate stuck in a barrel with a massive cannon.

How to play:

About the game:

This was my first real attempt at making a game in Godot. The original concept was a pirate-themed roguelite where you blast through enemy ships, collect loot, upgrade your ship with scavenged parts, and push further each run.

This project is a prototype that has been shelved for now, so there are several things to be aware of:

  • No sound or music

  • No progression/upgrades - completing a level simply reloads the same level with procedural generation.

  • Bugged enemy AI - Enemies may attack after death or without an animation; their pathing is terrible, the enemy Burte (catfish enemy) sometimes flies off-screen.

  • Collision issues - Can't go behind objects, which is frustrating.  At the time, I didn't know how to fix the problem.

  • Coins have no function

  • Eldritch chest - can’t be damaged or interacted with.

  • Damage when spawning - Never got around to figuring out why this happens; it doesn't happen every time.

Art and Animation:

All visuals were created by me in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects.
